Three populations;
Highlands of w. and c. Ethiopia. Se. Sudan (Boma Hills). Fragmented distribution e. of the Rift Valley in w., c. and se. Kenya (Ndotos, Meru, Mt. Kenya, Abedare forests and s. lowland forests of Arabuko-Sokoke), e. and sc. Tanzania (Mt. Kilimanjaro) w. to the Loita Hills, Moranga Forest, Mt. Rungwe and Umalile, Malawi in n. and s. lowlands, ne. Zambia, Mozambique to se. Zimbabwe and ex. ne. South Africa.
