Himalayas to se. Asia. Philippines. Sulawesi and c. Lesser Sundas. New Guinea and the Bismarck Archipelago;
Fragmented distribution;
(1) Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka e. through Nepal, Burma and Thailand to s. China then s. to Indochina, Malaya, Borneo and the Lesser Sundas.
(2) S. Sulawesi.
(3) N. and s. New Guinea from Lake Sentani to Collingwood Bay and from the Princess Marianne Straits to the Fly River, the Bismarck Archipelago (Long Is. and New Britain) and the Philippines.
