S. Central America to c. South America. Se. Brazil;
Two populations;
The Caribbean slope of ne. Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama along both slopes, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam, Guiana, w. and e. Ecuador, e. Peru (Tambopata River, Madre de Dios) to n. and e. Bolivia, w. and c. Brazil. Coastal s. Brazil (Bahia).
