S. Mexico (Nayarit, s. San Luis Potosi and s. Tamaulipas s. along both slopes), Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica to e. Panama. N. South America in Colombia, Venezuela, Trinidad, Guyana, Surinam, Guiana mostly e. of the Andes in e. Ecuador, e. Peru, Brazil (Bahia, Chapada Diamantina), Bolivia and Paraguay to n. Argentina.
