(2) Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghans, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon e. to w. Uganda, Kenya and s. Somalia and s. to c. Angola, nw. Zambia and n. Tanzania.
(3) S. Angola, s. Zaire, c. and e. Tanzania, Zanzibar and s. to ne. Namibia, n. and e. Botswana, n. and e. South Africa.
Migrating birds of this race may occur as far n. as e. Zaire, Uganda and s. Sudan.
Bird breeding on Pemba Is. are of uncertain race since races (1) and (3) both have been collected there.
