Himalayas to e. China and s. Japan, se. Asia, Greater Sundas and n. Philippines;
Fragmented distribution;
(1) Nepal to n. and ne. India (Assam), se. China, Burma, Thailand, Indochina, Hainan Is. and the n. Philippines and s. Japan from c. Honshu s.
Winters in ex. n. Northern Territory, ne. and nc. Queensland.
(2) Malaya Peninsula to Sumatra, Borneo, Sulawesi and adjacent is.
(3) Java and Bali.
(4) Taiwan.
