Range

W. Canada, w. United States to s. Central America. West Indies to Trinidad;
Two fragmented populations;
(1) Se. Alaska and w, Canada (nw. and c. British Columbia and sw. Alberta) through w. United States to s. California and locally in nw. Montana, Colorado, c. Utah, se. Arizona and nc. New Mexico and in the highlands of Mexico (Nayarit, Hidalgo and Veracruz) and Guatemala.
Winters in Mexico.
(2) Honduras to Costa Rica.
(3) West Indies (Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico, Montserrat, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia and St. Vincent) and Trinidad.
