Range

C. Central America to s. Tropical South America;
Fragmented distribution with about three major populations;
(1) S. Mexico (e. Chiapas), e. Guatemala (Biotopo Chocon Machaca, El Golfete, Dpto. Izabal) and n. Honduras to ne. Nicaragua and Costa Rica (Caribbean slope, Pacific sw).
(2) Panama and Cebaco Is.
(3) N. and ne. Colombia, nw.,c. and s. Venezuela, Trinidad, Guyana, Surinam, Guiana and nw. Brazil.
(4) Nc. Venezuela.
(5) E. Ecuador, e. Peru, n. and e. Bolivia, Amazonian, e. and s. Brazil (e. Bahia in Porto Seguro, Chapada Diamantina (Ibicoara and Lencois)) to n. Argentina (e. Formosa and Misiones).
