Range

C. to s. Central America. Tropical South America e. of the Andes;
Two populations;
(1) Se. Mexico from the Gulf-Caribbean slope in Veracrua and n. Oaxaca, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua and the Pacific slope in El Salvador and both slopes in Costa Rica and Panama.
(2) N., c. and e. Colombia, n. and se. Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam, Guiana, se. Peru, n. and e. Bolivia and c. Brazil (Bahia).
(3) Ne. Trinidad and Tobago Is.
(4) E. Bolivia, s. Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and n. Argentina.
