Range

C. to s. Central America;
Two populations;
(1) Se. Mexico on the Caribbean slope from se. Veracruz, n. Oaxaca, s. Tabasco, n. Chiapas to n. Guatemala, Belize and Honduras. May occur on the Pacific slope of Chiapas and Guatemala.
(2) E. Oaxaca and Chiapas.
(3) Costa Rica.
Birds from Nicaragua, Panama and nw. Columbia are of an uncertain species and/or race.
