Range

S. Central America and tropical South America;
Three major populations;
(1) Nicaragua (Caribbean lowlands), Costa Rica (Caribbean lowlands, Guanacaste Province in Pacific nw.) and Panama (from Colon e.) to n. Colombia (Antioquia, Santa Marta region, Sierra de Perija, Meta ) and n. Venezuela (w. Zulia, s. Tachira, Merida, Lara, Sucre, ne. Bolivar).
(2) E. of the Andes from Surinam to Bolivia (Pando, Beni, La Paz, Santa Cruz) Paraguay, e. Brazil (s. of the Amazon in e. Para, Alagoas and Bahia s. through Espirito Santo, Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais to Sao Paulo and Parana) Bolivia and ne. Argentina (Misiones).
