Range

Ne. Asia and Alaska;
E. Siberia from Sakhalin Is. n. through the Sea of Okhotsk and Kamchatka to the Bering Sea, Chukchi Sea and n. Pacific Ocean coast of Alaska from Cape Krusenstern and the Kotzebue Sound s. to the Aleutian Is. w. to Attu then e. to the Copper River Delta, Dry Bay and Kodiak Is. Breeding has been recorded in n. Japan (Hokkaido).
Winter range unknown, but birds occur in Philippine waters.
