(1) Sw. United States (se. California) and w. Mexico from Sonora and Sinaloa to Jalisco. Formerly sc. California (Salton Sea). Ne. Canada from s. New Brunswick and s. Nova Scotia s. along the Atlantic coast of the e. United States s. to Florida and w. to Texas. Locally through e. Central America.
Winters s. to s. Peru.
(2) the West Indies (Bahamas, Abaco Sound) to Cayo Arcas and Alacran Reef off the Yucatan Peninsula then e. to Trinidad and Tobago, is. off n. Venezuela and Guiana.
Winters s. to n. Brazil.
