Europe and ex. w. Asia;
S. British Isles, s. North Sea and s. Scandinavia s. to the Mediterranean in s. France, Italy, Greece, Menderes Delta, Turkey, n. Black Sea (Sea of Azov region) and sw. former USSR to Caspian Sea (Azerbaijan and Baku Archipelago).
Winters in the Mediterranean Basin (s. Europe and n. Africa) and the Black Sea.
