Breeds in w. United States (w. and c. Washington s. to c. California, Nevada, sc. Colorado, se. Wyoming and ne. South Dakota and from the Great Lakes of e. Wisconsin, n. Illinois, n. Michigan, n. Ohio, n. New York and c. New Hampshire) and wc. Canada (s. interior of British Columbia, ne. Alberta, nw. and c. Saskatchewan and nc. Manitoba and from nc. Ontario, s. Quebec, Prince Edward Island, s. Labrador, New Brunswick and ne. Newfoundland).
Winters s. to s. Mexico and the West Indies (Bahamas and Greater Antilles).
