Ne. Scandinavia e. across n. Russia to e. Siberia (Kolyma River) s. to c. Russia and c. Siberia. Isolated populations in s. Sweden and n. Poland, n. Belarus and the Baltic States (Latvia).
Winters in British Isles s. through w. Europe, Mediterranean region and n. tropical Africa and e. through Iran, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan and India to s. China and Vietnam.
