Range
N. Palearctic and locally in more s. areas;
S. populations are fragmented;
N. Palearctic in n. Europe from British Isles and n. Scandinavia e. across Russia, n. Siberia (New Siberian Islands) to Anadyrland. Locally s. to nc. Europe (Biebrza Marsh in Poland, Senne in w. Slovakia, and Apaj Puszta, Kiskunsag National Park in Hungary), nc. Russia, Kirghiz steppes and sw. Siberia in the Altai and Lake Shira. Nw. Alaska (Point Lay).
Winters s. to s. Africa, s. Asia and Australia (mostly coastal areas of Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and se. South Australia (Adelaide at ICI Saltworks)).
