Range

Ne. Siberia;
Ne. Siberia from Ukouge Lagoon, Chukotski Peninsula s. to Litke Strait and Karaginski Bay in Anadyrland and Koryakland on the Kamchatka Peninsula.
Migration routes are unknown. Migrating birds have been recorded form coastal China, Hong Kong (Mai Po marshes), North Korea, South Korea (Saemangeum wetlands), Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam (Xuan Thuy Nature Reserve, Cam Ranh Bay, and Red River Delta, Vietnam).
Wintering birds have been recorded in small numbers in s. India, Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, w. Malaysia and Singapore, but the major wintering area seems to be in the Bay of Bengal off Bangladesh (Urir Char, Dhal Char and Maulvir Char).
