Ex. n. North America;
N. Alaska and arctic Canada from n. Yukon, nw. Mackenzie, Banks Is., Melville Is., Bathurst Is., n. Bylot Islands, Keewatin and nw. Hudson Bay at Chesterfield Inlet, Southampton Is. and Baffin Is.
Migrates s. throught the United States, West Indies and South America.
Winter in s. South America from s. Chile, ce. Brazil (Bahia, Lake Sobradinho), Uruguay (Banados del Este) and Argentina to Tierra del Fuego.
