Nc. Palearctic;
N. Scandinavia through e. Europe (nw. and c. Russia s. to c. Ukraine) and c. Asia to c. Siberia to Kolyma River s. to n. Europe, s. Siberia (Altai) and e. to Mongolia, and n. Manchura along the Amur River in Amurland. Isolated population in Kyrgyzstan in the Kirghiz steppes and w. China (nw. Xinjiang).
Winters s. to s. Africa, s. Asia, Taiwan and the Philippines.
