Range

N. Siberia;
Two populations;
Breeds in c. Siberia in n. and c. Yakutia from the s. slopes of the Putorana Mountains e. to the Anabar River and in the Verkhoyansk Mountains and Cherski Mountains on the upper Yana River and Indigirka River to the Anyuy River along the Siberian coast. Probably also breeds s. to n. Mongolia, Lake Baikal and Amurland. Migrates through Taiwan, the Philippines and Indonesia.
Winters in New Guinea and Australia in Western Australia, North Territory (Top End in the Darwin area, Mamukala), Queensland (turf farms near Cairns), New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
