(1) Iceland (deltas of Jokulsa a Dal and Jokulsa a Fljotsdal at Utherad), Faroe Is., Orkney Is. and Shetland Is.
Winters in British Isles.
(2) N. Palearctic: British Isles, Scandinavia, w. Europe e. across Russia and Siberia to Kamchatka and w. Aleutians (Attu and Shemya) s. to the Azores, s. Europe, s. Russia, Kirghiz steppes, Turkestan, w. China to Transbaicalia to Manchuria and Sakhalin Is. Isolated populations from ne. Afghanistan to n. India.
Winters in w. Europe, Mediterranean Basin, tropical Africa, Middle East, Arabia and the Indian Subcontinent to e. China, s. Korea, s. Japan, Philippines and w. Indonesia.
