Range

C. Asia and ec. Asia;
Two populations;
Cs. Siberia from the Altai e. to Transbaicalia, n. Mongolia, Amurland and s. Ussuriland.
Winters in India, Burma, se. Asia, Greater Sundas (Borneo), Lesser Sundas, New Guinea, the Philippines and n. Australia (n. Western Australia (Broome Bird Observatory), n. Northern Territory (Knuckey's Lagoon in the Top End near Darwin) and n. Queensland (Iron Range National Park and Cairns area).
