W. Asia in Caspian Sea region;
Se. Russia n. to the Volga-Ural steppes, n. Caspian Sea region and Aral Sea regions, Kirghiz steppes, Iran to n. India and nw. China (nw. Sinkiang).
Winters in s. and e. Africa.
