Range

C. Central America s. to nw. and se. South America;
Two populations;
S. Mexico s. from Sinaloa and Veracruz to Panama and from Colombia to Venezuela, Netherland Antilles e. to Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Surinam and Guiana, Brazil (Bahia), and Uruguay to c. Argentina and w. of the Andes in w. Ecuador to nw. Peru s. to Lambayeque. A reletively small isolated population in c. Chile from Valparaiso s. to Malleco.
