Fragmented distribution;
Three or four populations: one along the Andes, one or two in c. Brazil and one in se. Brazil.

(2) Nw. Venezuela.
(3) E. Colombia e. of the Andes s. through e. Ecuador to n. Peru (Huayabamba Valley).
(4) C. Peru (Huanuco, Junin, Ayacucho, lower Marcapata Valley, e. Cuzco).
(5) Se. Peru (Puno), n. Bolivia (La Paz, Pando, Cochabamba, w. Santa Cruz).
(6) C. Brazil s. of the Amazon from the lower Rio Tapajos in w. Para.
(7) Se. Brazil (s. Bahia (Mt. Pascoal and Itubera), s. Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro s. to Rio Grande do Sol), Paraguay and ex. ne. Argentina (Misiones).
(8) Se. Peru in the middle Marcapata Valley eight kilometers s. of the Hacienda Cadena (1400m), San Andres, e. Cuzco.
