(1) C. California mainly in San Francisco Bay, also in San Pablo Bay. Formerly also Morro Bay, Tomales Bay, Humboldt Bay, and Monterey Bay.
(2) Coastal c. California (Santa Barbara County) s. to n. Baja at Bahia de San Quintin s. to San Ignatio.
(3) Sw. United States (se. California at the Salton Sea (Imperial Valley) and lower Colorado River from Needles to river mouth, lower Gila River, isolated sites in s. Arizona) and nw. Mexico (Sonora to San Blas, Nayarit).
(4) S. Baja from San Ignatio and Magdalena to La Paz along the Pacific coast and San Jose Is. and Espirito Santo Is.
(5) Coastal Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut s. to ne. North Carolina.
Winters in the s. part of its breeding range and in South Carolina, Georgia, and ne. Florida.
(6) Coastal se. North Carolina to ne. Florida s. to Martin County at ca. 27°N.
(7) Gulf coast of w. Florida, and sw. Alabama to Texas and ex. ne. Mexico (Tamaulipas).
(8) Se. Mexico (coastal Yucatan along Rio Lagartos).
(9) Se. Mexico, Quintana Roo on Chinchorro Reef. Probably also on Cayo Culebra and Holbox Is.
(10) Yucatan and Belize (Ycacos Lagoon and possibly Half Moon Cay).
(11) Coastal Florida from ca. 29°N s. along the e. coast to Pensacola in the panhandle.
(12) Florida Keys from Key Largo to Boca Grande and presumably Marquesas.
(13) Bahamas (Abaco).
(14) Cuba (Isle of Pines).
(15) West Indies in Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico including Vieques, Lesser Antilles e. to Antigua and Guadeloupe.
(16) Coastal ex. sw. Colombia (Narino, Tumaco), w. Ecuador and nw. Peru (Rio Tumbes delta).
(17) Ex. ne. Colombia (Guajira (Riohacha, Bahia Portete, and Puerto Lopez) and ex. nw. Venezuela (Falcon, and Carabobo).
