Range

Sc. Europe;
(1) Alps of se. France, Switzerland, s. Germany (Bavaria), w. Austria (w. Carinthia), n. Italy including the Apennines of c. and s. Italy, and w. Yugoslavia (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia).
(2) Se. Yugoslavia (Serbia), Albania, Macedonia, and Greece including Ionian Islands e., sw. and c. Bulgaria to ex. sw. Romania.
(3) Sicily.
Mixed and indeterminate numbers of this species and the Chukar Partridge have been introduce into the United Kingdom, Russia, United States, Canada, Mexico, and New Zealand.
