Fragmented distribution in the Rocky Mountains;
(1) Mountains of c. Alaska from the Kenai Peninsula s. of Anchorage e. to nw. Canada (c. Yukon, se. Mackenzie).
(2) Rocky Mountains of British Columbia and adjacent w. Alberta.
(3) Vancouver Is.
W. United States:
(4) C. and s. Washington (Mt. Rainier, Cascade Range s. to Mt. St. Helens).
(5) Rocky Mountains from se. British Columbia, sw. Alberta s. through Montana, Wyoming, ne. Utah (Uinta Mountains), Colorado (Pike’s Peak) to n. New Mexico (Sangre de Cristo Mountains).
Introduced to the c. Sierra Nevada of California, Oregon, Utah and New Mexico.
