Range

New Guinea and w. Papuan Islands;
(1) Nw. New Guinea, main mountain ranges from the Nassau and Snow Mountains e. to the Owen Stanley Mountains. Isolated populations in the Tamran Mountains and Arfak Mountains of the Vogelkop Peninsula, Wandammen Mountains and Bonbarai Peninsula, Gauttier Mountains, Cyclops Mountains, Torricelli Mountains, Sepik Mountains, Saruwaged Mountains on the Huon Peninsula.
The population on Yapen Is. is of an undescribed race.
(2) Misool Is. in the w. Papuan Is.
