S. Central America to se. tropical South America;
(1) Sw. Costa Rica, Panama (Pearl Is.), Colombia, Venezuela, Trinidad (Nariva Swamp), Guyana, Surinam, Guiana s. n. of the Amazon in e. Ecuador, e. Peru and Brazil.
(2) E. Peru, n. and e. Bolivia, Brazil s. of the Amazon (Bahia, Chapada Diamantina), Paraguay, Uruguay and n. Argentina.
