Nepal to se. Asia; E. and w. India; Se. China and Taiwan; Greater Sundas;
Fragmented distribution;
(1) N. Pakistan, Nepal, n. and s. India (Himalayan foothills s. to w. and e. Ghats, Orissa, w. Bengal, Assam s. of the Brahmaputra River s. to Kanyakumari) and Sri Lanka.
(2) Sc. and se. China (Yunnan, Fujian), Burma s. through Indochina, Malay Peninsula, Greater Sundas, Sulawesi and Moluccas Is. (Halmahera, Ternate, Buru, Ceram), and possibly Banggai Is. and Sula Is. Isolated populations in Taiwan and neighboring mainland se. China.
