Two populations;
E. and se. Sudan and w. and c. Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea s. to ne. Zaire, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, c. and w. Kenya, nc. and sw. Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, ex. ne. Botswana and w. Mozambique. Isolated populations in cw. Angola and in n. and c. Namibia.
