Range

Ethiopia; E. Africa to n. s. Africa;
Two populations;
Isolated population in s. Ethiopia. Angola, n. Zaire, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya (nw. Mara Game Refuge and near Namanga), Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, ne. Namibia, n. Botswana and n. South Africa (Transvaal).
An apparent migrant in Senegambia, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Benin, Mali, Nigeria, Cameroon and Chad.
