Range

Ne. Siberia and nw. North America (w. Alaska);
Breeds in Ne. Siberia from the Chukotski Peninsula s. to Anadyrland and formerly w. to the Kolyma River, also on St. Lawrence and Nunivak Is. to coastal w. Alaska from the Kotzebue Sound, Noatak River estuary, n. Seward Peninsula and the Yukon River estuary s. to Kiskokwim Bay.
Winters along the Pacific coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula, Commander Is., Aleutian Is., outer Kodiak Is., and the Alaskan Peninsula (Port Moller, Izembeck Bay e. to Sanak Is.) and possibly e. to the Cook Inlet.
