Two populations;
Locally e. of the Andes in ec. Colombia in the Ilanos in Arauca, Casanare, ne. Meta, Vichada along the Casanare, Cravo, Norte and Arauca Rivers, Ilanos of c. Venezuela (along the Orinoco and Apure Rivers in Apure, Barinas, nw. Bolivar), sw. Guyana and Surinam s. to w. Amazonian Brazil (Rio Negro, Rio Branco s. to nw. Mato Grosso along the Rio Guapore).
