Range
Andes of w. South America;
Fragmented distribution with about three separate populations;
C. Ecuador in the paramos of Antisana and Cotopaxi, Peru (Ancash, Junin, Huancavelica, w. Ayacucho, e. of Andes in Cuzco and Puno), cw. Bolivia (La Paz, Oruro and occasionally Cochabamba) and ex. n. Chile (Arica, Lake Parinacota).
