Yugoslavia, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, c. Russia to Urals and Caucasus, s. half of Siberia to Amurland and Sakhalin Is., s. Korea to s. Iran, n. Afghanistan, n. China to Manchuria, n. Mongolia. Se. Angola, Zambia, sw. Tanzania, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, s. Mozambique and South Africa.
Disperses to Israel, Senegal, s. Mali, Upper Volta, s. Niger, n. Nigeria, c. Chad, Sudan, e. Egypt, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya (especially along Athi-Galana Rivers), n. Tanzania, Pakistan, n. India (Ladakh), Nepal, China (s. of Yangtze), Burma, nw. Thailand, n. Laos, n. Vietnam.
