Australia and Tasmania; New Zealand;
Two populations;
(1) Western Australia from Wyndham s. to Albany (Cape Naturaliste to Peron Peninsula and the Kimberleys), e. Northern Territory, coastal Queensland, New South Wales (Murray-Darling Basin), Victoria and s. and e. South Australia.
(2) New Zealand, North Island (Northland, Hauraki Gulf and Bay of Plenty), South Island (Marlborough Sounds, Nelson, North Canterbury) and Stewart Is.
