Range

Ce. Atlantic Ocean to ex. sw. Indian Ocean;
Breeds between 24°38'S and 33°50'S on six is. off the s. African coast (Mercury and Possession Is.), South Africa (Bird Is., Algoa Bay, Cape Province) and c. Namibia (Ichaboe Is., Bird Is., Lambert's Bay Is., Malages Is. in Saldanha Bay and Hollandsbird Is.).
Disperses n. on the e. coast to Mozambique and rarely to Tanzania and Kenya (Mombasa) and on the w. coast to Angola, Congo, Gabon, into the Gulf of Guinea, Cameroon and Nigeria (mostly young birds).
