Saharan Africa and Arabian Peninsula;
Fragmented distribution;
(1) Sahara Desert of se. Morocco, inland n. Algeria and Tunisia (Jbil National Park).
(2) Egypt, Sinai Peninsula n. to the Dead Sea. Isolated populations in Saudi Arabia (Red Sea) and possibly s. Iraq and sw. Iran.
(3) Rio de Oro, s. Mauritania, n. Mali, s. Niger, c. Chad, n. Sudan, ne. Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Djibouti.
