Range
N. Palearctic;
Fragmented distribution at the w. and e. extremes of its range;
(1) W. Europe (s. Finland), nc. Russia (Karelia, Perm, and w. Ural Mountains) and c. and s. Siberia e. to lower Kolyma River, Sea of Okhotsk, and Kamchatka and s. to Altai, Amurland, and Ussuriland, ex. n. Mongolia, ne. China (Manchuria), and possibly ne. Korea.
Winters in ne. Indian Subcontinent, Malaya, Indochina, n. Philippines and the Greater Sundas (Sumatra, w. Java, and n. Borneo).
(2) Sakhalin Is., s. Kuril Is., and n. Japan (Hokkaido and possibly n. Honshu).
Winters in se. Asia.
