N. and se. tropical South America;
Three widely separated populations;
(1) Ne. and e. Colombia, n. and w. Venezuela.
(2) Ne. Venezuela and Trinidad.
(3) Tobago.
(4) S. Venezuela and w. Guyana.
(5) E. and se. Brazil (e. Bahia (Chapada Diamantina, Lencois and Encruzilhada)) to ne. Paraguay and ne. Argentina.
