Fragmented population at boundaries of range;
(1) S. and se. Canada (s. Saskatchewan e. to New Brunswick and sw. Nova Scotia) and e. United States e. of the Rocky Mountains from s. Texas and the Gulf Coast states to Florida and ne. Mexico.
Non-breeding birds also occur in n. Mexico and Bermuda.

Winters s. to Guatemala.
