Range

Nw. South America s. e. of the Andes throughout most of tropical South America;
Three populations;
(1) E. Panama and n. Colombia.
(2) Se. Colombia, e. Ecuador and e. Peru.
(3) Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam, Guiana, Amazonian and e. Brazil (Bahia (Chapada Diamantina)), n. Bolivia, e. Paraguay, and ne. Argentina (Formosa, Chaco, Misiones, and Corrientes).
(4) E. Bolivia.
