(1) Ex. se. Alaska, Canada (s. Yukon, s. Mackenzie, and n. Alberta e. to Newfoundland and Nova Scotia) and s. in the United States to n. Utah, Colorado, w. Oklahoma, Kansas, c. Missouri, s. Illinois, ec. Mississippi, n. Alabama, n. Georgia and South Carolina.
(2) Sw. Canada (nc. British Columbia) s. in the w. United States to n. California.
Winters s. from Mexico regularly to Costa Rica and perhaps as far as Panama, n. South America and rarely to the West Indies (Greater Antilles).
