Three main populations;
(1) Sw. Mauritania, Senegambia, Gambia and Guinea-Bissau.
(2) Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Ivory Coast.
(3) Guinea, and s. Mali e. to Ghana then e. to n. Nigeria, s. Chad, Central African Republic and s. Sudan s. to Cameroon, n. and e. Zaire, n. Uganda, Burundi, w. Kenya, and nw. Tanzania.
(4) Se. Sudan, n., c., and w. Ethiopia.
(5) Se. Gabon, c. Congo, s. Zaire, e. to w. Tanzania, and s. to c. Angola, nw. Zambia and n. Malawi (Songwe River).
(6) Se. Botswana, e. to ex. s. Mozambique and s. to e. and s. South Africa (Transkei, s. Natal and e. Transvaal).
(7) S. Angola, s. Zambia s. to n. Namibia, nw. Botswana and ne. Zimbabwe.
