E., sc., and se. Africa;
Fragmented distribution;
(1) Coastal s. Mozambique and ne. South Africa (KwaZulu-Natal and coast s. of Lake St. Lucia).
(2) E. and s. Angola (e. plateaux), se. Zaire, Zambia, ex. sw. Tanzania, s. to ne. Namibia, n. Botswana (Okavango Delta, Linyanti Swamp, and Chobe floodplain), ex. nw. Mozambique, ex. n. and c. Malawi (Songwe River mouth and Lilongwe area). Highveld of ne. and c. Zimbabwe. W. and c. Mozambique?
(3) C. and sw. Kenya (c. highlnads, Lake Victoria basin, and Masai Mara) and cn. Tanzania s. to Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater and e. to Lake Manyara and Ardai and Sanya Plains.
