Range

Sc. to se. South America;
Andes of c. and se. Bolivia (Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, Tarija), s. through w. Paraguay to s. Argentina (Chubut). Lowlands of s. Uruguay and n. Argentina s. to Chaco, Cordoba, Buenos Aires and Entre Rios and locally s. to Chubut.
Winters n. to Peru and Amazonian Brazil, rarely to Surinam and possibly se. Colombia.
