About three populations;
(1) Himalayas of Pakistan (Gilgit), n. India from Kashmir e. to Arunachal Pradesh, s. Tibet, and sc. China.
Winters in n. India and se. Asia.
(2) S. and e. China and Taiwan.
Winters in se. Asia.
(3) Sc. And se. Siberia (Khamar-Daban, Ussuriland, Sakhalin Is.), Kuril Is. s. to ne. China, Korea and Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, Kyushu).
Winters s. in se. Asia, Philippines and the Greater Sundas (Borneo).
